Furniture Bank
What is the furniture bank?
The Furniture Bank by Habitat for Humanity Windsor-Essex provides a vital lifeline to low-income families, refugees, and individuals transitioning out of homelessness. Through partnerships with community organizations, we ensure access to essential furniture and appliances that foster stability and dignity. The Furniture Bank provides an integrated furniture pick up and distribution system that offers support to people in need of furniture through partnership between service providers. The Habitat ReStore handles all donated furniture, which is either sold to fund Habitat housing programs or given to Furniture Bank clients.
Since its relaunch in 2018, the Furniture Bank has served:
-
4,102 individuals, including 1,901 youth and 257 children under 12
-
Clients referred by 8 core partner agencies, including those supporting survivors of abuse, refugees, and individuals at risk of homelessness
-
Over 2,000 appliances repaired and distributed to meet critical household needs
Your furniture donations and financial support directly help families establish safe and secure homes, restoring normalcy and independence to their lives.
